Are You Ready Maggot?Physical therapy is crucial for Rene right now and she knows that she must be regimented about doing it. I find myself being able to mimic the drill sergeant from from the book Maggot which was very popular my senior year of high school. Basically, Rene didn't realize what she requested when she said make sure she is pushed! I am sure my brother-in-law is chuckling about the impact of PT and newbies going through boot camp right now!
Building her strength back before she goes in for her 4th cycle of chemo will not be easy. I have stressed to her that she is about to adopt a new habit that is part of her life. She wants to be pushed by me when she in the hospital even when she is whiny about it. I will get her to sign a sheet of paper and record her on a tape recorder before she goes in. This way I have back up when she pushes back and threatens to remove parts of my anatomy for being a drill sergeant!
Good First Day
Today I pushed her and she responded well to it; let's see how well she does come Wednesday! We discovered that our furniture is not what she needs at this point. So I willingly went to a store and purchased a new sitting chair for her. Believe it or not, I got the right type of chair that fit the decor! I must be careful with this, she will expect me to always get it right!

It sounds like Eugene is doing a great job as your drill sargent and I know that regardless of what you say you know how lucky you are to have him.
Keep up the good work and remember there is light at the end of the tunnel.
