Dodging Bullets

Better And Bad

Friday's chemo cocktails left Rene very weak and nauseous and any ideas about her eating and exercising was not something to mention to her. Basically, she felt that she was too weak and her body was too heavy for her to move. I reminded her that she was at the halfway point for her treatments for round #3 and she would get past this.

Today she felt much better and was able to eat and move about. She was not being a "Speedy Gonzalez" when she walked but she felt better once she did. She sat up in a chair for about an hour and then went back to bed afterwards. She could not do this on Friday so this was a major accomplishment for the day.

Baseball Impact

Last night the Braves smacked the Dodgers and the Mainers whacked the Yankees. Today, the Braves lost to the Dodgers and the Yankees defeated the Mainers. This is not a good baseball day and the Mets are winning against the Diamondbacks again! The baseballs are helping Rene today so Sunday's rubber matches are critical for her.

Sunday's Objectives

Tomorrow I am hoping that Rene will continue her improved conditions so she will exercise and eat without too much kvetching. Secretly, I am happy that she is kvetching, it means she is still strong and stubborn! After tomorrow, she won't receive any additional chemo treatments. The next phase of her treatments will be monitoring for her nadir (lowest point) period from these drugs, which I anticipate will occur by Wednesday and hopefully they can address in less than seven days.
