Much Better Now

Well Rene is past the worst with her mouth ulcers. She is able to drink water and is now on a liquid/soft foods diet. She is still receiving nutrients via her IV port still to supplement her oral intakes. She can speak without any pain and therefore she should be a "chatty Cathy" to anyone that either calls or visits her. She still has the ulcers, they are healing at a rapid pace.

Overall, her blood counts are at levels that make both her oncologist and infectious disease doctor very happy. All the nurses and other support staff have commented on how well she looks and upbeat she is behaving right now. She will answer the telephone now and accept any and all visitors, so feel free to either call or stop by.
