I Can't Hear You!
Today Rene was told that she must have daily leukine shots to increase her white blood cells all this week. She is over needles and anyone that tells her this. So you can imagine her mood upon getting this news! Her oncologist got out the line of fire and left me to deal with it. What a wimp, the amount of money he is charging, he needs to stick around and share in the joy of his treatments! To add insult to injury, she must have platelets and blood transfusions today and tomorrow. This means that her port will get poked again. Did I mention she is not happy?
Mood
She is really accepting that this must be done because she does feel better after getting platelets and bloods. I know that she doesn't like how she feels after her shots and this is the outcome of getting better. We both have a better understanding of what she will experience with her chemo treatment and therefore we will not be surprised by anything. She is not going to dwell in "pity parties", time to move on and tell me what to do!
Changes
Later this week she will get a new "haircut" and a new bed for the master bedroom. The haircut should be fun for her to get. The new bed will be godsend for her and she thanks Roger for all his help. Flowers, plants, and books are growing around her. She is getting tired of television so this is a great diversion for her if her Zune doesn't take over first.
