Metaphorically Speaking...
For the past several days, Rene and I have reflected on her condition and why she is grateful that she is ready for her pending chemo treatments. For nearly 10 days prior to us finding out she had lymphoma, she was having severe abdominal cramping and could not digest food. Five weeks later, she is no longer experiencing the extreme pain that I can only describe as the torment of Prometheus! Her oncologist has taken the role of Hercules and his chemo treatments are the arrows that are slaying the "eagles" that ravage her body.
Nourishment & Rest
Since her release from the hospital on Monday, her ability to consumed food has increased each day. She is migrated to solid foods because the canker sores nearly healed. The new bed allows her to get a restful sleep each night and she can lay on her side without any discomfort. Overall she is regaining strength and enjoying her time at home.
Weekend Plans
- Watch the Braves/Rockies series (Braves won last night)
- Enjoy the Yankees' discomfort with the Red Sox (11 - 4 loss last night!)
- Play with the pets
- Spend quality time with anyone that calls or stops by
- Ask the husband questions from hell!!
- "Whatcha ya doing?"...be quick or you get the next question
- "Why are you doing that?"...be careful or you get the final question that destroyed many men!
- "Whatcha ya thinking?"...under no circumstances should a man every respond! Take whatever pain she dishes out and avoid this question at all costs! You will be FLAYED! I just grunt and it has become a game with us for 20 years, I think can last a bit more before she wears me down!
