I'm Leaving!Since one oncologist felt she could leave over the weekend, Rene is now wanting to leave regardless if her nadir has occurred. The oncologist treating her knows that her counts will drop and she will need to come to his office daily for monitoring.
She has decided that she wants out before the weekend and it doesn't matter if the nadir has occurred. I told her that she should stay have the transition in the hospital and I think that fell on deaf ears! The last time this occurred in her treatment, I had to bring her back because of infections.
She is very bored right now and since this is her last treatment, she just wants out. I understand these feelings and I am not trying to steal her joy. Her German is up at the moment and I have to let it run its course because she won't listen either way.
Homeward Bound
She got her release papers today and she is now done with her hospital chemo treatments. She is happy and will be going her oncologist's office daily for a bit to get shots and monitoring. If her nadir ends up being powerful, it could require her to go back into the hospital. We will wait and see.
